Scarlet Daisy Smiles Outreach shares the love of Christ with our friends living on the streets across Southern Illinois. We are turning our first bus into a mobile shower so we can bring hot showers, clean laundry, and a helping hand right to the people who need them most.

Who we are
We don't call them homeless. We call them friends.
Our missionThe mission of S.D.S. Outreach is to share the love of Christ with the less fortunate by providing mobile showers and laundry, as well as showing compassion by connecting others to community resources and recovery opportunities.
Every person deserves to feel clean, cared for, and seen.
Living outside makes the most basic things hard. Getting clean, and having clean clothes to put on afterward, sits near the top of that list. So instead of waiting for our friends to find a shower, we are bringing the shower to them.
A shower is only the start, though. We want to walk alongside the people we serve and point them toward the local resources and recovery programs that can help them take their next step.
We are just getting started, and we would love for you to be part of it from the very first day.

Meet the shower bus
Bus No. 1 is about to get a whole new job.
This is our first bus. It spent its first life carrying folks to church. Its next one is carrying hot water to our friends.
Once the conversion is done, it can pull up wherever people need it and offer a hot, private shower on the spot. No appointment, no long walk across town, just a clean start.

Why showers and laundry?
It's hard to feel like yourself when you can't get clean.
For our friends living outside, a hot shower and a clean set of clothes can be days or even weeks away. Here is why something so simple matters so much.
Health
Regular washing, of both body and clothes, helps prevent the skin infections and sores that are common when you are living outside.
Opportunity
A job interview, a doctor's appointment, a meeting with a caseworker. Walking in clean opens doors.
Hope
Warm water and a fresh towel say you matter. Sometimes that is the moment someone is ready for a next step.

What is Scarlet Daisy Smiles Outreach?
Scarlet Daisy Smiles Outreach, also called S.D.S. Outreach, is a Christ-centered nonprofit serving Southern Illinois. We share the love of Christ with our friends experiencing homelessness through mobile showers and laundry, and by connecting them with community resources and recovery opportunities.
What is the shower bus?
It is our first bus, and we are converting it into a mobile shower. Once it is finished, it can go right to where our friends are and offer a hot, private shower on the spot.
Where does my donation go?
Your gift helps build our shower bus and supports our laundry outreach and the supplies our friends need most, like towels, soap, shampoo, and clean socks.
Do you help with more than showers?
Yes. Along with showers and laundry, we connect our friends with community resources and recovery opportunities in the area, so a fresh start can keep going.
Can I donate supplies instead of money?
Yes. Our Amazon Gift List lets you pick specific items and have them shipped straight to us. If you would rather drop something off, email us and we will work it out.
